The day before last week’s month

D.F. Brown

Lights out blinking,

Running blind and thinking.

Ethics and cultures,

          Try mixing.

Life’s blender on,

Set on high to try fixing.

Life’s police present the fine,

While all of us just try walking the white line.

Straight up,

No corners.

Some of life’s greatest pleasures,

Lies come from them.

From what lie?

For what?

Don’t try even answering…

Until you’re ready to die.
