Staples Tuition Grants:

Each year, there are more and more of Westport students who work hard, take out loans, and do all they can to save, but still cannot close the gap on their college, university or trade school tuition bill. This is where the Holiday Scholarship drive for Staples Tuition Grants (STG) comes in – and we need your help. We have created a named award: Westport Families Scholarship Award to support this organization as part of our Westport community.

For almost 75 years, Staples Tuition Grants (STG) has been a Westport community tradition of neighbors helping neighbors, families helping families. STG awards college, university and trade school tuition assistance grants, in amounts up to $6,000 per year, to Staples High School seniors and graduates with demonstrated financial need.Last year, STG awarded $300,000 in grants, each ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, to 115 deserving Staples seniors and alumni in college. All applicants complete a rigorous application process, based on each student’s financial data, including the federal FAFSA form and school-specific tuition costs. The grants are strictly need based.

Please consider becoming a sponsor by contributing to our fundraiser. All donations received by December 17 will be listed on the STG website and Facebook page. Your fully tax-deductible donation could make a meaningful difference to the lives of students in our community. It could also be a great way to give a gift to honor a favorite teacher!!

For more information and for sponsorship levels click HERE. You may make a donation online by clicking here, or you may complete the contribution form and return it to: Lisa Lesher, 46 High Point Rd, Westport, along with your check, payable to SHS PTA.
