Participation in Players brings with it enormous responsibility . The student must recognize the importance of keeping his grades at an acceptable level. It is harmful to the organization when a student uses the program as an excuse for poor academic performance. Particular attention needs to be paid to what has come to be called
"hell week". All members are expected to plan ahead making sure their academic life does not suffer. During "hell week" we generally begin rehearsal at 2:30, have a dinner break around 5:30 and then end the evening by 9:30. Needless to say it is a very full and rigorous week. Since we know right from the beginning when hell week will occur and what the demands are, students should be able to prepare for it. If a student feels that this program is too demanding, he or she should consult the Director of Players and/or the officers in an attempt to solve the problem. Depending on a student's entire program of study and involvement, it may be necessary to drop out of Players. We need students who have the time and the desire to follow through on commitments. We need to be able to count on you. If that's not possible then it best you evaluate you situation and do what is best for you and the organization. These expectations are part of
the mainstage and studio theatre policies.
