LIGHTING AND AUDIO CREW
Mission Statement (the goals and responsibilities of this crew):
The Lighting Crew at Staples High School serves the purpose of providing lights for most, if not all, activities in the Staples High School Auditorium. If you join the lighting crew you will be expected to work on any project ranging from lighting an actual Staples Players Production to a relatively simple band concert. Any new members will be required to undergo a short training session in which each member will learn the basics of lighting maintenance, lighting application and safety. If you have any questions about anything pertaining to these skills, the lighting manager as well as any senior lighting crew member will more than likely be able to answer your questions.
The Lighting Manager, the respective leader of the Lighting Crew, will be charged with the responsibilities of delegating design authority for lighting plots for all school productions (concerts, assemblies, plays etc.). S/he will also appoint a spot crew head for each production and then decide which members of the lighting crew are deserving of a position of running a Spotlight. H/She must work closely with the Technical Director and Director of each production in order to best design a lighting plot for each show.
