Awards We've Received


John Drury High School Radio Awards.
 The Drury Award competition is dedicated to recognizing broadcast excellence at high school radio stations across the country. There are a number of competitions for non-commercial college and university radio stations, but few exclusively for high school stations. In each of the Drury Award categories five National Finalists are named. From that list first, second and third place are awarded. WWPT first submitted entries to the Drury Awards for consideration in 2009.

2010 Awards:

  • Eric Gallanty & D.J. Sixsmith were finalists for MSGVarsity's "V" award for their coverage of the Candlelight Concert.

  • On October 25th, Mike Zito was chosen as one of the first four recipients of the S'Park Media Mentor Awards. These awards were created to "Recognize outstanding high school teachers and advisers who are committed to igniting a passion for media in their students." For more info click here)

  • October 28, 2009 - D.J. Sixsmith was awarded the MSG Scholastic Spotlight Award after his appearance on Mike Quick's "A Quick Sixty".
