BREAKING NEWS:
CLM Militants
Take Over Oil Field in Danangistan
February 13, 2007; 10:05
In a bloody raid of the government-owned facility,
terrorists wearing the
uniform now associated with the Cubnian paramilitary group,
the CLM, seized control one of the largest oil fields in
Cuborica. Cubnians working at the facility surrendered
immediately to the invading forces; witnesses claim some
Cubnians joined the invaders making some analysts suspect
either the CLM had infiltrated the plant or the Freedom Party
was working covertly with the CLM to stage this assault. Three
plant executives were taken hostage, their exact whereabouts
and condition is not yet know. The bodies of seven other
executives were dumped outside of the compound main gate. No
other casualties have been reported.
CLM Apparently
Responsible for Friday's Attack
Says Violence Will Continue if
Demands Are Not Met
February 12, 2007; 9:05
In a brief statement released to the media, the CLM, while
never explicitly claiming responsibility for Friday's attack
did warn of future violence if their demands are not met. No
demands were provided in the statement, however, and some
analysts doubt the authenticity of such a nonsensical
communiqué.

SECESSION!
National Alliance Party Secession Announcement
February 13, 2007; 11:22
We the National Alliance Party declare our secession from
Cuborica. As of now, we are officially known as the country
of Boreaca. Our border will reach from just
south of San Pusan across the
country to just north of the
Rhine Strip.
President Selassie has not taken action to accomplish the
goals that he outlined in his State of the Union Address. A
constitutional convention has not occurred, an exploratory
committee has not been created, and the oil conflict has not
been solved. The Kerner Commission has proved unsuccessful
because the Japicas have stated that while they want equality
for Cuborica, they want to maintain their power. This is not
possible.
Historically there have been attempts at secession such as
the
New England states and the southern states of the
United States, the
Quebec province of Canada and the Katanga region of the
Congo.
Of all of these examples,
Katanga
is most like us. Both Katanga and Boreaca are the
mineral-rich and ethnically homogeneous regions of our former
nations, and as such are entitled to the sovereignty to manage
the resources on our land.
We feel that the government of Cuborica has not taken
appropriate measures to stop or respond to the Cubnian
Liberation Movement attacks. We feel that President
Selassie's speech on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 was nothing
more than an acknowledgement that people have died at the
hands of terrorists; he has not addressed a strategy or a plan
to stop these attacks, and the National Alliance Party does
not believe that the attacks will cease. As to the CLM attack
upon our oil, we will take all of the actions necessary to
punish these terrorists once we have seceded. This will be
the first step in following our new terrorism plan, which
includes taking military action to combat the CLM, or the
Common Sense Party if they choose to attack us. Additionally,
we have a plan ready to be put into action to establish our
own government and will do so as soon as we secede from
Cuborica.
President
Selassie Addresses the Nation
Arrests made in Bombing Attack
February 13, 2007; 9:44
President Selassie addressed the nation - promises swift and
unmerciful justice. No video file is available. President
Selassie also asked for the time and cooperation necessary to
facilitate the work of the Kerner Commission. What he
described as "hateful attacks" were interfering with
meaningful work being done. He warned Cubnians that the CLM
was not working on their behalf.
In the days since last weeks
bombing of the Hailestan Stock Exchange, 27 people have been
rounded up and arrested. According to a spokesperson for
President Selassie, these individuals are influential leaders
in the CLM terrorist organization. According to the
administration, "these baby-killers may not have driven the
truck, but they loaded the explosives and drew up the plan. We
are all safer while they are detained for interrogation."
Death Toll from
Attack Rises
Hopes of Finding More Survivors Dwindles
February 12, 2007; 9:12
The death toll from
Friday's attack has now risen to 1,134. Hundreds of people
were injured. Rescue authorities say that they have little
hope any more survivors will be found. The focus of the effort
has turned from rescue to recovery. President Selassie, in a
statement to press, said that the Cuborican government is
undertaken a comprehensive hunt for "the CLM babykillers and
will not rest until they have arrested all people associated
with this heinous attack on innocent, hard-working citizens."
Nations around
the world are shocked and a tremendous outpouring of sympathy
is to the nation and the families of the victims is being
extended by world leaders and ordinary people the world
around. |
SUICIDE TRUCK BOMBER
TARGETS HAILESTAN STOCK EXCHANGE, 1000 DEAD
February 09, 2007; 8:43

A suicide bomber detonated an
explosives-laden truck at
the crowded
Haliestan Stock Exchange Friday morning, killing
and least 1000
people and wounding scores of
others. Rescue personnel on the scene
commented that the death toll will
likely rise if they are unable to reach
survivors who are trapped under the rubble.
Gary Skaendunistivitch,
head of the Interior Ministry's
bomb squad, said the Hyundai truck
used in the blast contained "a ton"
of explosives.
Friday's
bombing comes four days
after
Cuborican air strikes against CLM bases in
Kosnia and Cupana.
At the time of the bombing
Cuborican President Selassie was meeting with the Kerner
Commission discussing plans to extend greater rights to the
Cubnians.

President Selassie
Addresses the Nation:
Air strikes Underway
February 05, 2007; 10:15
Cuborican President Selassie made a televised speech to the
nation today. he announced that national intelligence had
determined that CLM cells in Kosnia and Cupan had served as
the staging ground for the attack on the Cuborican embassy in
Aforea. In addition he claimed that his intelligence agents
had also established a connection between the Cuborican
National Alliance Party and the CLM. Jacques Blaques, a
militant member of the National Alliance is suspected of
recently raiding a federal arsenal. Cuborican intelligence
claims the the weapons seized in that raid have been funneled
to the CLM. At the time of the speech President Selassie
announced that retaliatory airstrikes against the CLM bases in
Kosnia and Cupan were underway and that no hostility was
intended toward the governments of those nations, only to the
terrorists within their borders.

EMBASSY ATTACKED!
January 31, 2007;
10:00
At 10:14 on January 31 a bomb exploded at the
Cuborican Embassy in Aforea. Early estimates are that 241
Japica service people were killed and 60 were injured in the
attack.

Witnesses say
a yellow delivery truck drove toward
the embassy, turned onto an access
road leading to embassy compound and
circled a parking lot. The driver then accelerated and crashed
through a barbed wire fence around the
parking lot, passed between two sentry posts, crashed through a
gate and barreled into the lobby. The
explosives in the truck, which were equivalent to 12,000
pounds (about 5,400kg) of TNT, were
detonated. The force of the explosion collapsed the four-story
cinder-block building into rubble, crushing many inside. |
New Information on
the CLM
February 02, 2007; 9:20
According to ranking officials in the Selassie
Administration, no concrete tie has been established between
the CLM and the Freedom Party in Cuborica. National
intelligence has identified militant Cubnian cells in
neighboring countries and is investigating any possible role
they may have played in Wednesday's attack on the Cuborican
Embassy in Aforea. President Selassie has promised the a
response to the attack is imminent.

VIDEO TAPE RELEASED
CLAIMING BOMBING RESPONSIBILITY
February 02, 2007; 8:30
Government experts
verified the authenticity of a tape on
which a man claims to be a representative of the Cubnian
Liberation Movement (CLM) claiming responsibility for the recent attack
on the Cuborican Embassy in Bosgovnia. The unidentified man
lists the demands of this newly emerged terrorist organization
including full citizenship, equal representation in the
government, fair labor practices, equal education and access to
health care.
Initially the Cuborican administration had
assumed the attack had been carried out by the Boreacans. No
administration officials, nor the President's press secretary,
were available for comment on this new development.
The
unidentified speaker on the tape did not claim any connection
with the Cubnian Freedom Party, however, until his identity is
determined, such a connection can not be ruled out. |
