Kent State
Although Nixon's policy of Vietnamization was implemented in 1969, and the U.S. has been deescalating involvement in Vietnam, protests against U.S. involvement in Southeast Asia are still rampant on college campuses across the country. In particular, the Kent State and Jackson State demonstrations caught the nation's attention. Soldiers sneer in disgust at the outpouring of sorrow and anti-government vehemence over the Kent and Jackson State shootings. As they fight, bleed and die every day in the jungles of South Vietnam, whose hearts go out to them?
