Life in
Ancient Athens

In this activity, we are going to explore what life may have been life for people at different levels of Athenian society.  Here's how its going to work:

Step 1:
Print out the matrix at the bottom of this page.  You will use this as your recording device,

Step 2:
Follow this link to the PBS website, The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization
.  You will need to choose either the Flash 4 or HTML version.  The Flash 4 version has better graphics, but they both work perfectly for the purposes of this assignment.

Step 3:
Click on the Icon for "The Greeks Interactive" and then go to "Life In Athens"

Step 4:
Follow the process through, recording each step as you go. Gender and Citizenship status have already been decided for you on the matrix. Record the results for Greeks from different backgrounds on the matrix.  Be prepared to discuss your results in class.  Then we'll try to piece together what life was like in Ancient Athens!

I suggest you just highlight the matrix, and when you go to print, choose "selection"
