Suggestions for Building Your City
REMEMBER that you will be determining what
types of materials you want to use to build your cell city.
Some of the cheapest is colored construction
paper ( you can also get some of this from your instructor.) JUST ASK!
If you want to use something sturdier than
construction paper, there is poster board.
One of the simplest ways to construct
buildings is to create cubes of different sizes.
Below is a diagram showing the
"blueprints" for putting together different sizes cubes. You can print it out,
or ask your instructor for a copy. You can create other sizes by simply using a
metric ruler.

Once you get the "blueprint" , use a
sturdy sheet of paper to make a template to use to make many cubes. You simply
fold on the bold lines, glue or tape the sides together, turn it over so the
open end faces down and you have a simple building.
You can then draw in doors and windows.
You DO NOT need to be real elaborate and
put roofs on the cubical buildings unless you want to.
An easy way to create trees is to use
Q-Tips. Cut them in half, color the cotton tip green, the paper part brown, and
you have a simple tree.
BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN WITH THIS!! IF YOU HAVE ANY
QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR!!
